BUHAY Party List – El Shaddai’s Brother Mike Velarde WITHDRAWS support

Two time Philippine elections party list topnotcher BUHAY with a Velarde sitting in Congress from 2001 to 2019 is in deep trouble. Having three representatives in the years (2007, 2013) that Buhay came out on top, the rest of the elections participated in netted two representatives (2001, 2004, 2010, 2016). However, in 2019, former Manila City Mayor Lito Atienza was the lone BUHAY winner. Atienza is currently serving his third term (2013, 2016 and 2019) as a BUHAY party list congressman and he is running for vice president in 2022. 2019 was the first time since 2001 that no Velarde won as a party list representative since the Velarde nominee was only listed second, with Atienza listed first, and BUHAY only secured one seat.

Atienza asked for the help of the Charismatic leader Brother Mike in the 2001 party list elections with the agreement that Brother Mike would choose the nominees. Atienza was the BUHAY second nominee in 2013 and 2016 and won both times. For 2019, Atienza requested Brother Mike for him (Mayor Lito) to run as the BUHAY first nominee (perhaps to ensure that he would win a third consecutive term). Brother Mike agreed and Congressman Atienza got his third term through BUHAY. Brother Mike thought that the initial 2001 agreement was still in place and that he would put a son of his as the first nominee for 2022. Party List representative Lito Atienza had other plans. Since he is barred by the Philippine Constitution from running for a fourth consecutive Congressional seat as well as having plans for higher office in 2022, Atienza put his son-in-law as BUHAY’s first nominee for 2022. The Velarde family (Brother Mike and two of his sons who had previously been BUHAY Congressmen) pulled out of the party list that had a spectacular past because of Brother Mike and the hordes of El Shaddai faithful.

Without Brother Mike and with Lito Atienza running for vice president in 2022, it would be worth watching if BUHAY party list would be able to regain the glory it once had from the 2001, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 elections. A single winner in 2019 is the lowest point of BUHAY at this time. For 2022, BUHAY can retain its single seat (getting two or three seats as in elections past is totally unthinkable) or BUHAY may not succeed in getting a single seat as the Brother Mike Velarde drawing power is no longer there.

UPDATE on 2016 Parojinog DRUG Matrix – 3 DEAD, 1 recently shot in the head and 2 in jail

The recent SNIPER ambush against Lopez Jaena, Misamis Occidental Mayor Michael Gutierrez adds another chapter to the violent and deadly incidents that followed the release of the Misamis Occidental DRUG MATRIX headed by then Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. Taking their roots from the Kuratong Baleleng bank robbery and kidnap for ransom gang, the second generation Parojinogs were able to use their ill gotten wealth to fund a Robin Hood persona of giving money to the poor, generating mass appeal and later entering politics. Loads and loads of cash came from illegal gambling and drugs.

By the entry of the Rodrigo Duterte administration in 2016, Reynaldo Parojinog controlled not only Ozamiz City as mayor with his daughter Nova Princess as vice mayor but also at least 8 town mayors in the province. Octavio Parojinog Jr was a member of the Misamis Occidental Provincial Board. In 2017, the house of Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. was raided with the deaths of Reynaldo Sr., his wife, his brother (Octavio Jr), his sister and a nephew among more that a dozen killed in the police operation.

Reynaldo’s son, Reynaldo Jr., and Vice Mayor daughter are both currently in jail. High profile Herbert Colangco, reputedly in a relationship with Nova Princess, is also in jail. Richard Parojinog died while in prison.

Among the non-Parojinog second liners, the more prominent names being mentioned are 1. Clarin Mayor David Navarro (said to be a member of Kuratong Baleleng together with Reynaldo Sr.). Navarro was killed in an ambush in Cebu City in 2019. 2. Sinacaban Mayor Cris Mahilac went viral after photos were made public wherein his house was plastered with PHP 1000 and PHP 500 bills which were used as wall paper. His wife is an avid luxury brand (Hermes among others) hand bag collector with lots of pictures to prove it too. 3. Lopez Jaena Mayor Michael Gutierrez is the CRYING local chief executive for weeping shamelessly after being named as a drug lord or drug lord protector. With Mayor Gutierrez being sidelined after being shot in the head, Mayor Cris Mahilac is now the most well known Parojinog associate that has avoided a BULLET in his body.

SIGN of WEAKNESS: Chel Diokno debate challenge to President Duterte

2019 Otso Diretso sa Inidoro Liberal Party losing candidate Chel Diokno is running for the Senate once more in 2022. Having largely been ignored by the voting public by finishing in number 21 position in the midterm elections with more than six million votes, Diokno was eight million votes shy of the Magic 12 list of winners.

For 2022, Diokno is again badly trailing behind in poll surveys. Perhaps as an indication of desperation, Chel Diokno issued a challenge to debate with President Duterte (who at some point indicated an intention to run for vice president then slid down to run for senator but finally backed out from running for national office in 2022).

Had President Digong accepted the Diokno challenge, Chel would have already won political points even before the actual debate started. Had the debate pushed through and had Chel given a good account of himself, then more voters may have considered putting him in their ballots in May 2022. But it was NOT to be. President Duterte, the veteran politician, did not bite. Digong had nothing to gain even if he had demolished Chel in the debate. If Chel managed to score debate points, then he would have shouted out to the whole world that he had beaten Du30 (in a debate) and he would crow about it throughout the whole campaign period. If Chel was beaten, gored and mauled by President Duterte in the verbal tussle, Chel would then package himself as the victim of persecution by the current administration and appeal to the Filipino electorate propensity of rooting for the underdog.

Challenging the President of the Republic of the Philippines to a debate was a crude campaign gimmick done by a political pygmy (who wants to come out as a David) against Duterte alias Goliath. Only losers and the powerless resort to such cheap tricks and it only further exposed the Chel Diokno WEAKNESS.
